Holiday Fun

In the holidays Conor went to Boredom Busters.


He made a kite out of plastic, sticks and long tape.


He showed us how it flew at school.
It was great!

Visit to Centre of New Zealand and Maitai Dam

We went on a bus trip and we went to the dam.

Waimea class plays rugby.

We wrote this story and took these pictures of us playing rugby.





We did warm ups.


We rolled the ball around our tummies
and around our legs.

We played Touch.


We had to score a try..




...and we had to touch the other players with two hands.
















Then we had to pass the ball to some one else.
We had fun!

Swimming Sports

Tarn is stretching his arms and legs really straight to float like a starfish.



We are lifting our heads back with our arms by our sides so we can float on our backs.



Our arms are long and straight, our legs are kicking under the water and we are speeding across the pool.


Everyone really tried their best and
we had a great day at the swimming sports.

Going to Rotorua

Miss K. and I went to Rotorua to learn new things to teach the children at Appleby school.

There is a lot of maori culture in Rotorua.

Miss K. and I went to visit a geothermal place where the mud was bubbling in the ground......



... and boiling water was so hot it was spraying up into a geyser. It was very smelly!!!!!!!!!


Miss K and I are learning a whole lot of fun new things for us to try.



The place where our conference is had a big colouful maori pillar in the doorway.

We have had 2 sessions using the computers and have drawn a picture of ourselves 'Being a Friend' in Kidpix.



Summer and Marshall are trying out different things in Kidpix.

Grace said, "It was fun in the skydiver's plane because I could see the controls."
Daniel said,"I saw the pilot's seat."





When Shawn turned the control lever the ailerons went up and down.


Zoe said, "When she pulled the control lever the elevators on the tail turned up and that made the plane go up."

Getting a Lift

Do you know how planes get lift?




We blew fast across a piece of thin paper.







It lifted up.


Planes' wings are curved on the top so the wind has to go faster over the top of the wing which makes the plane lift up!!!!!!!!!!!!
